Hope Tech has established a reputation for producing highly durable components. Following four years of proven performance, their acclaimed Tech 4 brake system has been carefully updated, focusing on precise enhancements rather than a complete redesign.
The Hope Tech EVO GR4 four-piston gravity brake is engineered for the toughest conditions, providing uncompromising power. Its exceptionally smooth lever feel combined with high-quality construction ensures precise control and sets the standard for both gravity riding and e-bike applications.
A redesigned cam mechanism reduces the free lever stroke while preserving the signature feel and modulation of the Tech 4 brakes. This adjustment provides a firmer bite point, accompanied by a smooth, progressive increase in power throughout the braking zone, improving overall brake modulation.
The roller bearing main pivot from the Tech 4 is retained, alongside the sliding guide bush on the main piston. An added secondary guide bush ensures the piston remains perfectly aligned, delivering exceptionally smooth movement throughout the entire lever travel.
A bleed port has been integrated into the master cylinder body, enabling bleeding without removing the lid for a more straightforward and efficient process. The traditional "open" bleed option remains available for thorough maintenance. Additionally, the internal port has been redesigned to prevent air pockets during bleeding, ensuring a more reliable and consistent bleed.
Three lever blade options are available. The brakes come standard with the STANDARD lever blade, suitable for most riders and uses. POWER and CONTROL blades can be purchased separately. Each EVO blade includes an extended lever hook for enhanced control and stability during aggressive riding, along with a dimpled finger contact area that improves comfort under heavy braking while maintaining grip in all weather conditions. Additionally, all blades offer adjustable reach and bite points.
STANDARD - A good balance of lever feel, power and adjustment range.
POWER - A profile tailored for users that position the lever further away from the bars, allows for 5mm more outward adjustment than STD. Increased length generates more mechanical leverage and compensates for lever position further away from pivot point.
